A Comparison Between Peugeot 3008 & KIA Sportage
Peugeot 3008 is a potential entrant in the local segment of Crossover Compact SUVs. So, we decided to compare this vehicle with the dominant player of this category, KIA Sportage. This article will compare the 2020 facelift of Peugeot 3008 with the All Wheel Drive (AWD) variant of Sportage.
The most important thing regarding these two cars is that both are products of Lucky Motors. One is a collaboration with Peugeot (French), while the other was launched in partnership with KIA Motors (South Korean).
The SUV by Peugeot has a Length of 4450mm, a Width of 1840mm and 1620mm of Height with 2675mm of Wheelbase. In Comparison, Sportage is 4485mm Long, 1855mm wide and 1635mm High with a 2670mm Wheelbase. The comparison shows that Sportage is longer, wider and higher than the 3008; however, the French car has more Wheelbase.
However, 3008 has more Ground Clearance, which is 219mm against 172mm of Sportage.
Engine and Transmission
On the one hand, the Peugeot’s SUV will come with a 1.6L Turbocharged engine, which produces 162hp and 250Nm Torque, while on the other hand, Sportage offers a 2.0L MPI engine with 154hp and 195Nm Torque. Although the engine of Sportage is bigger but the horsepower and torque of 3008 are more.
Both vehicles have a 6-Speed Automatic Transmission, making them equal in this regard. Lastly, 3008 is Front Wheel Drive (FWD), while Sportage has All Wheel Drive (AWD) drivetrain.
The headlamps in Peugeot 3008 is LED with LED DRLs and Rear lamps, while Sportage offers Projection LED Headlamps, LED DRLs and Backlights. Both companies provide 18-inch Alloy Wheels in their products, so both cars are almost similar in this category.
The size of the Infotainment Touchscreen in 3008 is 10-inch which is also floating, while Sportage comes with an 8-inch Touchscreen in its dashboard. Both cars have Dual Zone Climate Control, Panoramic Sunroof, Smart Key, and Push Start, making them pretty equal.
The most important comparison shows that Peugeot has a slight edge as it has 6 Airbags against 2 in Sportage. The Cruise Control in 3008 is Adaptive, which is Speed Limiter in Sportage. If we talk about the common safety features, they are Rear View Camera and Parking Sensors, Hill Start Assist and ABS + Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) + Emergency Stability Program (ESP).
The price of Peugeot has not been announced as yet, while the current rate of KIA Sportage is Rs5,270,000.
