The Tucson has been in the Indian market since long, with the first model launched back in 2005. This was followed by the second-generation Tucson introduced in 2009 and then updated with the third-generation model in 2016. But because of its placement in the premium crossover SUV segment, it has not been anywhere close to the sort of success the newer Hyundai Creta or the Venue has received in Indian market. Hyundai however now hopes that the all-new Tucson will bring favorable results in terms of sales.
As seen in international variants, the 4th gen Hyundai Tucson is primarily defined by its large grille which is now seamlessly integrated with the LED head light units. The rear section gets dual T-shaped LED tail-lights that are connected via an LED light bar. The lighting arrangement at the rear divides the tail section in two parts, thus breaking the visual mass.
Inside, the new Tucson comes packed with an all-digital 10.1-inch driver display and another 10.1-inch main infotainment touchscreen unit. Other features inside the vehicle include wireless phone charging, ambient lighting, ventilated front seats, 360-degree camera, keyless entry and auto-dimming IRVM etc. In terms of safety, the new Tucson is a big step up in comparison to the existing 3rd gen model being the first-in-segment vehicle to come equipped with Level-2 ADAS feature. The suite brings in functions such as forward collision warning, blind spot assist, lane keep assist, rear cross traffic alert and more. Other safety features include standard 6 airbags, front and rear parking sensors, ESC, hill-descent control and all-wheel disc brakes.
