Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible 2021 review – 208mph luxury drop-top driven – Autocar

The new Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible, that’s what – and it’s driven here for the very first time, on the island roads of Sicily.

The GT Speed Convertible uses the same platform and advanced chassis technology as the GT Speed Coupe that we drove at Silverstone earlier this year. Like the coupe, it has four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering and a torque-vectoring electronically controlled limited slip differential, and it uses those systems to offer greater handling dynamism and driver appeal than any modern Continental-series car has before it. It also has a cockpit full of luxury ambience and opulent material lustre, four usable adult-sized seats, world-class comfort and refinement, and long-distance cruising manners that very few convertibles made anywhere in the world could equal.

Matt Saunders took to some of the craggily beautiful roads once used as part of one of the oldest road races in the world – the legendary Targa Florio – to find out exactly how much sporting verve has been squeezed into this British-built luxury GT.
