Changan Hunter Wins Best Pickup Truck Award in Saudi Arabia

Just eight months after its launch in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Changan Hunter has won the Best Pickup Truck title at the 9th National Auto Award by PR Arabia, marking another Changan product that has gained a firm foothold in the Saudi market.

Launched in Saudi Arabia in March 2021, the Changan Hunter has quickly went on to become a sales success. It comes powered by 1.9L turbo diesel engine which punches out 150hp of power and 350Nm of torque and is paired to a 6-speed manual transmission. The Hunter in Saudia also comes rich in safety features such as driver/ passenger/ curtain airbags, electronic stability program with brake assist, hill-start and hill descent controls, traction control, blind spot monitor, reversing camera and tire pressure monitoring system.

Changan Hunter is regarded as a distinct new generation of pickup with powerful capabilities and an outstanding exterior design combined with a practical and comfortable interior. This is the result of strong backing of Changan’s research and development centers and over 1,000 technical specialists in the field of research and development, which have been working for several years in various parts of the world.

Changan Hunter in Saudi Arabia

The Hunter pickup which was jointly developed by Changan and its joint venture partner PSA (Peugeot-Citroen) was first unveiled at the 2019 Chongqing Auto Show. The vehicle has also spawned the latest generation of Peugeot Landtrek pickup which is also on sale in various other markets. The Hunter pickup truck was also seen on our roads as Changan is carrying trials & tests for a possible launch in Pakistan to compete against the likes of Toyota Hilux and Isuzu D-Max.
