Kia Stonic’s Locally-Assembled Units Spotted in Pakistan

Kia Lucky Motors (KLM) seems all set to introduce the new Stonic in Pakistan sooner than originally anticipated. Recent reports from the market sources stated that the launch could be happening by next month, and a recent photo of a batch of Stonic SUVs being transported on a car carrier, possibly to the company’s warehouse further affirms those reports.

Since the vehicles are non-camouflaged, it is understood that these are the locally assembled units of the new Stonic being transported to either a warehouse or to the company’s dealerships.

The Stonic is Kia’s subcompact crossover SUV that competes with the likes of Honda Vezel/HR-V, Nissan Juke, Toyota C-HR, and Proton X50.

Although nothing has been confirmed by the company about the variants of the vehicle as of yet, it is being reported that the Stonic is likely to be made available in Pakistan in three trim levels.

The base and mid-trim levels will likely be fitted with a 1.4-liter naturally aspirated 4-cylinder petrol engine while the top-trim level is likely to feature a 1.0-liter turbocharged 3-cylinder petrol engine.

The Stonic is still in its latest generation around the world including Pakistan, and it also boasts impressive features such as:

Adaptive Cruise Control
Automatic Climate Control
Push Start Button
Dual Airbags
Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD), and Brake Assist (BA) technology
Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS)
Electronic Stability Control (ESC)
Hill Start Assist Control (HAC)
There have been rumors in the car community that the Stonic’s price will be kept between Rs. 2.7 million and Rs. 3.2 million, however, it is likely that the company will place it to be around the same pricepoint as a Corolla Altis X 1.6 at the very least, that is, between Rs. 3.1 million and Rs. 3.6 million.

All of those speculations are likely to come to an end soon, as KLM seems to be fast-tracking its preparations to launch the new Stonic in Pakistan.
