Suzuki Ciaz Achieves 300,000 Units Sales Milestone in India
Suzuki Ciaz has achieved a unique milestone of selling over 300,000 units in the Indian market since it was first introduced in 2014. Maruti Suzuki claims that Ciaz is the fastest to achieve this feat in its segment. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director (Marketing & Sales) of Maruti Suzuki while commenting on the achievement, said:
“Since its launch in 2014, Ciaz has redefined the segment with its class leading space, design and sophistication & has witnessed a resounding success in the highly competitive premium sedan segment. The milestone of 3 lac sales demonstrates customer’s faith and confidence in the brand”.
The Ciaz rivals against the likes of Honda City, Hyundai Verna, Toyota Yaris, Volkswagen Vento and Skoda Rapid in Indian market. In 2018, the Ciaz received a thorough makeover with improved styling, updated features as well as new engine options. However in 2020 when the BS-VI norms were enforced, diesel engine was dropped from the lineup with only petrol powertrain available. The BS-VI compliant engine is 1.5L unit that churns out 103hp of power and 138Nm of torque and is mated to a 5-speed manual and an automatic transmission.
Ciaz in India comes available in 4 variants– Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha. According to Maruti, the top-spec Alpha trim contributes to over 54% of the total sales. Key features include projector headlamps with DRLs, 16-inch alloy wheels, cruise control, push button engine push start/stop, rear ac vents, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, GPS navigation, reverse parking camera, and electrically adjustable and foldable side mirrors.
Furthermore Suzuki Ciaz offers pedestrian protection, as its full-frontal impact, frontal-offset impact and side-impact compliant. It gets standard safety features like dual front airbags, IsoFix, high-speed warning alert and ABS with EBD. Ciaz in India is priced from INR 8.61 lac (PKR 19.69 lac) and goes as high as INR 11.59lac (PKR 26.51 lac) for the fully loaded version.
