Suzuki Halts Alto Deliveries Due to a Mysterious Issue

Pak Suzuki Alto

The demand for Suzuki Alto in Pakistan is second to none, going by official sales figures released by the Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC). Although this is mainly because of Alto’s positive reviews based on its fuel economy, it does fall short in its fit and finish.

A recent update by market sources shows that PSMC is stalling Alto deliveries to dealerships because of its faulty fuel lines. The company has also reportedly issued a countrywide recall for the recently-built units that have already been sold to customers.

Sources say that the company has not disclosed the issue publically, and is trying to resolve it without telling buyers.

ProPakistani reached out to PSMC’s representatives to get a statement on the matter but they refused to address it. Meanwhile, dealerships have outright denied the issue.

Owners of Suzuki Alto usually complain about quality control issues such as poorly fitted panels, flimsy bodywork, and concerns about tire size and quality. There have also been reports of various Altos getting into accidents with airbags failing to open.

PSMC is one of the few companies with a localization rate above 50 percent, which indicates that several important vehicle components are manufactured in Pakistan. Although this is a positive attribute, the lack of quality assurance by the company is a huge red flag for its progress.
